Friends of the Lee County Libraries will hold a Book Fair at two Barnes & Noble locations in Lee County on Saturday, December 9, 2017, from 9:00am – 10:00pm. When customers mention FRIENDS, or bring a voucher, Barnes & Noble will donate a percentage of sales for that day, and for online sales from Dec. 9-14th, to the Friends, who will donate the proceeds to the Lee County Library’s 2018 Summer Reading Program.
Activities taking place during the day at both locations include storytelling, face painting, animal balloons by Way Too Tall Torrie, STEM activities, multi-author book signing and a visit from Santa. Schedules will be available at the stores, at Library branches and online.
Look for a voucher with the Book Fair ID at your local Library branch and in local media, or just mention FRIENDS at checkout to ensure the Friends get credit for your purchase. Use Book Fair ID 12244950 for online purchases.
The Summer Reading Program is an annual event which takes place at each Lee County Library branch and is open to all ages, from pre-school to older teens. Different activities take place at each branch, all with the goal of encouraging kids to develop and enjoy reading habits which can take them to places limited only by their imaginations.
The Friends goal is to provide 10,000 kids with 10,000 books and raise $10,000.
