August
Artis Henderson: Artis lives in Estero and is interested in fiction and nonfiction. She has been published in the Florida Weekly, Common Ties, column and she is currently working on a collection of stories from the Iraq war widows.
July
Pam Malafronte: Pam is interested in fiction, non-fiction and poetry. She is presently working on a realistic fiction piece. She is also a mixed media acrylic artist and a middle school teacher who has taken a break this year to complete her Reading M.Ed.
Sandra McCurdy: Sandra’s main interests are fiction and screenwriting. She is currently working on a one-hour pilot and has written a novel entitled “ Temple of Sapience,” an epic adventure that she is in the process of converting into a full feature screenplay.
Tom Nelson: Tom is a non-fiction writer. His published work is “That’s My Story and I’m Sticking to it.” He writes a weekly column for a Wisconsin newspaper about events and experiences growing up in a small midwestern town. These stories have become a history of sorts. Tom is also busy on an autobiography of his longtime work career.
Lynn Salem: Lynn is a retired teacher and writes fiction and non-fiction. She has been published in books for beginning readers, seedling publications and articles in professional books. She is busy at work on picture books for children, based on travel in Egypt. She is also co-founder/owner of Seedling Publications, now part of Continental Press.
Jill Schreidell: Jill is interested in fiction and non-fiction and currently working on an interview for a newspaper. She hopes to take part in panel discussions as well as benefit from future speakers on short story writing and magazine articles.
JUNE
Jacqi Stockin – Jacqi has published “Easy Money: Rating the Bull to Fortune.” She is now working on a novel and tow non-fiction books about real estate. Jacqi also teaches Metaphysics.
Catherine Baumer -
Marcus Billson – Published work, a novel, “The Peninsula.” Work on another novel “Crab Key.”
Serena Blanchette –
Dr. Ed Brundell – Published work “The Stress Response,” and presently working on a non-fiction piece.
Mary Ellen Camden – She is working on a mystery novel, “Almost Home.” She has already written one novel and one children’s book, but is looking for a publisher.
Marlene Donaldson – Interested in Poetry, children’s books and non-fiction.
Russ Miller – has published in real estate magazines and is working on poetry at present.
Helen Sadler – Published “Under the Surface,” “Sacred Waters,” and “Night Music.” He has written for the Mangrove Review and is now working on a novel.
Ada Shissler – Published in local papers and news releases.
Susan Snow – Interested in Fiction, Non-Fiction, Poetry, Play Writing, Essay and Family Bios.
Michael Conn is interested in fiction and is in the process of writing a fictional novel. He is the Chief Operating Officer of a communications company and has a daughter living nearby. He wishes to learn the fundamentals of successful writing and have his work published.
MAY
Karin Addison returns as a member of GCWA. She said, “Previously I learned much and would like to learn more.” Karin has published columns in a nursing magazine and is now working on her memoirs.
Alma Bush is interested in fiction. She has been published in newspapers and is now in the process of writing stories on newsroom librarians.
Rebecca Elam is a fiction writer, now in the process of a children’s book. She has an interest in short stories.
Phyllis Kaye’s genre is fiction, non-fiction and playwriting. She is writing a children’s book and a book on Lupus. Phyllis is a children’s entertainer and received a State grant to perform an original program, “A Clown’s Story,” at Long Island, NY libraries.
Patricia McAnulty is a fiction writer. She is now busy with her science fiction novel (first draft is finished). Pat is a retired airline pilot.
