Combine adventure with writing on this unique retreat.

From GCWA Special Projects Officer, Sloan Jordan:

  1. The price on the attached includes everything except for lunches. I will be flying from Florida and will not be flying with the group.  The price of the land only is $3,999 CAD, or at today’s rate approximately $3,075 US for the whole trip except for the airfare and personal activity unrelated to the workshop.  I think it is a great price!
  2. The hotel looks fantastic
  3. I went on the Dublin trip and it was well worth the money for the experience of Dublin and Ireland as provided by the workshop folks. I’m sure this will be just as great but will also be a great wine-tasting experience
  4. You can say on the website that people interested could contact me by email (sloan@sloanjordan.com) for further questions or the travel agency directly.

Join Dr. Gerard Collins, an award-winning Newfoundland author, mentor, and university educator, on this creative writing retreat in Tuscany, Italy.

Your writing getaway includes round-trip air from Saint John, New Brunswick (other travel arrangements available), 6 nights at the Belvedere di San Leonino villa in Chianti, Italy, writing workshops and one-on-one feedback sessions, all breakfasts and dinners, ground transportation, taxes, and airport fees.

During our 6-night stay at the villa, Gerard will offer two creative writing workshops and host individual meetings with all participants, where the focus is on you and your writing, and where Gerard will provide detailed feedback on your writing.

Little Bitty Writing Space is an anthology of flash fiction (stories <1,000 words). It is open to all genres and all topics, and writers at any level of experience. As long as your tale is well-told, we want to read it.

The anthology is the third in a series of flash fiction books published by Browncoat Publishing, a local press based in Portland, Oregon run by husband-and-wife team Jason Brick and Rachel Letofsky.

This is a crowdfunded project, and will go live on Kickstarter in early June.

Accepted authors are paid $10 and receive an electronic copy of the anthology once the project funds. Authors receive a print copy free if the project reaches its stretch goal.

If you have a piece that you think could call Little Bitty Writing Space home, please follow the link below and fill out our submissions form.

Writing for JusticePEN America’s Writing For Justice Fellowship, an opportunity for writers working in any genre to address aspects of the challenge of mass incarceration in the United States. Six Fellowships will be offered in this round, each with a $10,000 honorarium as well as funds for travel and research, and we hope this will enable extraordinary works to surface.

The 12 month-long Writing For Justice Fellowships will commission writers to create written works of lasting merit that illuminate critical issues related to mass incarceration and catalyze public debate.

Our Volunteers are how we operate

Being on the Board or Executive Committee is extremely important to our association. Since we are a volunteer based, 501c3, the only way we can maintain the operation is through our member’s continuous donation of time.

We realize not everyone can give in this way all the time, and thus we have one-year terms for most of our officers. The Board meets four times per year outside of our general meetings, and the Executive Committee meets eleven times. Giving of just one year is all that is asked, and who knows, you may find you enjoy it and want to offer more.  Each term begins on April 1st.
