Hello, survivors!

Yet again, storms have roared through our area and disrupted our lives. Within two weeks, two violent hurricanes made matchsticks of homes, covered some in sand or mud, made recovery a challenge, and reminded us of the unpredictability of life.

I hope you are safe and unharmed. After such unsettling events, I need to see the people I care about. So I hope you’ll join us this coming Saturday, October 19, for the monthly meeting of Gulf Coast Writers.

This month we’ll meet in the fellowship room of the Masonic Hall/Peace Community Church at 17671 Pine Ridge Road, just north of Fort Myers Beach. As usual we’ll start at 10 AM. Sheryl Stillman and Cheryl Lynn Dratler have put together a program designed to help us use social media and other platforms to publicize our work. Come for the shared disaster stories, stay for the important information!

And for our final meeting of the year, we’re diverting tradition and planning a completely social event. We’ll share that idea at this Saturday’s meeting. Meanwhile, mark your calendar for Saturday, December 7.

Please come this Saturday, October 19. It will be much more fun than the last two weeks have been.
